Hello!
I am looking for a good pair of headphones for 100$ or less. I want full-size, over ear, closed back headphones (because I will use them while studying in the library...)
As to what kind of sound I'm looking for - I'm not quite sure, but I think I prefer a balanced sound. I used to have SoundMagic PL-50 IEMs and I liked their sound.
I listen mostly to prog-rock (Caravan, Gong, King Crimson, Electric Light Orchestra etc) and some indie (Alt-j, Hiatus Kaiyote).

I read some reviews and many recommend the Sony MDR-7506, what do you think about them? I also thought about the Shure SRH 440 - which one is better?

Any advice/recommendation will be appreciated.
Thanks!

You should strongly consider the Takstar Pro 80 (Gemini HSR-1000 is the same headphone, cheaper, and no cool case)

The Takstar Pro 80 has more extended (linear) bass than both SHR440 and 7506.
