So my earsonics sm3 v2 gave out on me. Cracked right shell and disconnected internal wiring in the process. Warranty is over so instead of sending it back to Earsonics for a pricey repair or reshelling them I decided to look at customs instead.
 
Looking at quad driver sets only since those are the only ones that fit within my budget. I'm not looking to blow over a thousand on these. 
 
How would the 1964 ears quad measure up? Most reviews I've read emphasize their bass. I am not a bass head and while I do enjoy a fair quantity of bass, I do not like to compromise on clarity and vocals. 
 
I listen mainly to bands like Maroon 5, Coldplay and Snow Patrol.

Hi,
In that price range you have no too many choices. Maybe the cosmic ears ba5, or UM 3dd will be alternative.
