Hi there,

Trying to get the most value out of the best price. I don't want to go anywhere above $250-300 here.

I've had the V-Moda M-80 for over 4 years now, and they're wearing out. They've been pretty great, although I've always wanted something better to use.

It's time for an upgrade.

I listen to mostly all metal. The genre dominates my musical preferences, so I obviously want one that's better with this genre. Very big focus here. If I'm not listening to metal, it's either edm, pop, or rap. Or classic rock, but iirc, headphones good with metal are also good with rock, and vice versa, etc.

My main use for these headphones is to listen to good music while I workout. Therefore, headphones need to be closed and can't leak too much noise. I run a fair bit, but mostly do heavy lifting in an already somewhat loud environment. I sweat a lot, but even after 4 years of using my M-80s for every workout, 5 to 6 times a week, the pads are still there. They've mostly held intact, but part of the surface on the pads started peeling off after about 3.5-4 years of use.

So, it looks like the frontrunners for my purchase rn are the Sennheiser Momentum (2.0, over ear), the V-Moda M-100, and the BeoPlay H6 (2nd gen). But I'm still having lots of trouble deciding. There are so many options, and I truly want to find the best one for my needs.

Any recommendations for the best headphone to get at or under $300? Please keep in mind that since portable use is my priority, carrying an amp with me is not something I want to do.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

Also: I know the BeoPlay H6 are priced at $300, but this link (https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00VIPJCOG/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=all&qid=1480122341&sr=8-9) has them listed at under $200, so I'm assuming this is for the 1st generation?
