I am planning to transition my home system from CD to Computer based.

Basically I have an Airport Express that will be used to stream music from my Macbook Pro.

The amplifier is a NAD M3 dual mono integrated.

I need a DAC for under $400 (Benchmark or Lavry are a little out of range). If the DAC can be used as headphone amp to rum my Grado RS2 that would be an added but not a necessity.

Any ideas / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also how good / bad is the Airport Express analog output (compared to say an iPod 5g or iPod Nano 2g line outs or Macbook Pro line out)

Thanks

I have a very similar setup. I stream music from iTunes to my airport express. I use the optical output from the airport express and run that into the Keces DA-131 (under $400 DAC). The DAC output goes to my LD MK IV and drives my RS-1s.

Check out the Keces DACs. There's a thread on here somewhere about them. Great DACs for the price.
