I want to get a good set of 2.1 speakers for my laptop. I listen mostly to trance, dance and electric and I do play games occasionally. My budget is $200 although I'd prefer to spend a little lesser unless it's a really good set.

This one looks okay too. But it's just a guess.

Fellow trance head here... I listen to a lot of EDM so my requirements are a clean sounding, bass heavy setup. I live in an apartment, so I can't go with thumping bass.

I used to own a 5.1 setup (Logitech X-550), and then a cheap 2.1 Dell AY550 setup because I had space issues. I upgraded to a set of bookshelf speakers + sub + amp about a year ago, and the difference is like night and day. I can recommend the following setup, all for around $155 total:

Dayton B652 - $40

Lepai TA 2020  $25

Dayton Sub-800 - $90

I have the Dayton SUB-80, which is the older model. Since I live in an apartment, I went with the 8", but you can get the 10" or 12" if you'd like - it all depends on how much you wanna spend and how big your room is. You'll need to pick up some speaker wires as well - and you're all set.

CNET recently published a guide on these exact speakers here: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13645_3-57439115-47/build-your-own-desktop-stereo-for-under-$70/

There are obviously plenty of cheaper consumer grade 2.1 setups out that can be ordered as a whole package, but if you want sound quality, I would recommend something like this to start off.
