Any recommendations for headphones (budget $300 max) ... please no IEM's as already got Westone UM2...i'll be using it with ALAC files / cd's at home with RSA Hornet portable amp... HF-1? DT880? anything else? thanks guys

What kind of music do you listen to? Do you want a closed can? Open can?

I'm listening to my HF-1s for the first time in a couple weeks (I've been using my HD595s a lot lately) and I realized how much I adore their sound. If you want something Grado, they are certainly an excellent choice.
