You can try the GMP 8.35.

I had a chance to try them at Meet (Sound Around Sound in Bellevue WA). They are close to Pro900 and much more comfortable, mayby too loose.

If you traded or sold the HD800 for the E8 then don't bother with the DT48, as they are just as neutral and transparent as the HD800 according to Erik. If you think the HD800 lack musicality, then you'll find the DT48 to be even less, and with less bass impact and slam.. But great for certain genres.

I think the JH13 Pros would be a nice compliment, and certainly meet all of your criteria, unless of course you are set on full sized headphones.

I haven`t spent a ton of time listening to the HD800s (a couple of hours total with a handful of different balanced and SE amps), but I definitely prefer my JH13s (for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to SQ).

I second the A2000X or 4070. The A2000X is similar in the HD800 in presentation but is not as good. The 4070 is as good as the HD800 IMO, but it doesn't isolate very well (however, it doesn't leak that much).

Ultrasone Edition 8 are better and easier to drive than the HD800. Keep this direction and be happy. My friend who owns Omega II MkI sold 4070 after several weeks, it took him about the same time as parting with the HD800. Amongst dynamic headphones he kept PS1000 only AFAIR.

*pukes a little bit in mouth*

Ed8>HD800?

I'd say it's more like Ed8>Other Ultrasones>iBuds>Listening via paper cups attached by string. But there's a lot to the left of the Ed8...

That'll be highly dependent on your budget and do you mind any coloration? The HD800 is very transparent and uncolored.

Relative to 90% of other headphones, yes.

Compared to ATH-AD2000 or AKG K701, well, it frankly wasn't designed to be that transparent and uncolored.

Also, I too am eager to see the more obscure recommendations that come out of this thread, as I'm looking to buy the ultimate closed "enjoyment" can, and will not pay for the $3,000 vintage Sony.

It is not surprising, given the merits of O2 MkI. On the other hand, is 4070 inferior to UE8?
