Particularly within the realm of DJ Shadow and U.n.k.l.e.. I have been into The Crystal Method and The Prodigy for quite some time now, and recently purchased Oakenfold's albums Bunkka and Creamfields, as well as Underworld's 1992-2002, so I think I have a good amount of the techno-trance type stuff, but other recommendations for that stuff is welcomed too. Within the last week I have bought both DJ Shadow albums and both Unkle albums and like them a lot and that type of style, so I really want to know some other artists that are like those. Thanks!

check RJD2 - Dead Ringer. very similar to Shadow.

Ulver - Perdition City might also be something you'd like.

No doubt you've investigated the other artists on the MoWax label, you should also check out the ninja tune label - here would be a good place to start: http://www.ninjatune.net/home/

..Good, kicking dj-centric artists on these - saw Amon Tobin in NYC on a boat/nightclub thing steaming along the Hudson - great night!

Beyond that, depends which direction you want to explore. Best way is to sample some of the main labels to decide what grabs you.

For stoner/chillout/eclectic stuff start with; 18th street lounge label (Thievery Corp), or G-Stone label (Kruder and/or Dorfmeister (incl. Peace Orchestra, Tosca))

For more oldschool-style electronica try the Warp label (Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, Autechre) or RS records

For left-of-centre melodic stuff try the Leaf label, or groups like mum or four tet

For ambient, I recommend biosphere and susumu yokota

For downbeat stuff, I like jon kennedy and mr scruff

hope this gives you some leads!

I'll second the recommendation for Amon Tobin--the guy is amazing.

Wow, that whole trip-hop type electronica field is huge. Lots to explore. Many many big names but here's a few favorites of mine that don't come up too often in these type of discussions.

Skylab - #1 (little known but very tasty)
Kid Loco - Grand Love Story (classic original 2-disc version)
Leftfield - Leftism (essential - one of the best of the 90s)
Laika - Sounds of the Satellites (a little more jittery than others)
Hector Zazou / Harold Budd - Glyph (kind of a French Eno - some very cool stuff here)
Bowery Electric - Lushlife (big rolling, churning soundscapes)

Well, rather than saying the same thing twice, I will point you to my post in the trip hop thread as it has my usual recommendations.

I think one of the best electronic dance music compilations ever is Tranceport 1 mixed by Okenfold.

Its such a great CD - truely a trance classic.

If you like a more industrial sound, try Aphex Twin and Squarepusher.
