I already have a sbz optical out -> modi optical -> magni -> ad700's
 
usage: 90% fps gaming (cs:go) 10% youtube/twitch/music
 
My budget is about $500.
 
Please help me to determine some better headphones for FPS gaming then the ad700's in this price range.
I am open to searching for used HP's also.

Order 2 AD2000 drivers from Audio Technica for about $103 shipped in the US and install them in your AD700. That's the best upgrade for the money!

I have been looking at the Sennheiser hd 700's Honestly I think I am over the audio technica "wings"

Hopefully you disabled the motherboard's on-board audio, in the BIOS, when you installed the SB-Z.
I'm guessing no matter how much you spend, you not going to find headphones that are considered better at FPS gaming, then the ATH-AD700s.
I'm sure you can get headphones with more bass then the AD700s, for enjoying music and movies.

yes I disabled my onboard audio. 
 
I am going to keep my ad700s anyways so if it doesn't work out I can always just use them
