Source: Tidal Hifi and Flac when available from my iMac running Roon.
Headphones: (for now) Ananda and LCD-2 Classic
Music type: pretty wide variety but mostly singer-songwriter, Radiohead and The National-type rock, female vocal like Lorde/Lana/Tori Amos, and hip hop. Pretty much everything but country and R&B.

I have no need for a way to drive speakers since this will just be a headphone setup. Right now, I'm using my FiiO M11 as a DAC. It's not dynamic enough for me (it might also be the Ananda which is why the LCD-2 is en route).

Budget: under $600 for both

DAC: Topping E30
Amp: Schiit Heresy

Great combo, but doesn't stack well so if that's an issue stick with the E30 as a DAC and go topping L30 for the amp.

I own both pairs of these and respect their clarity and power. I use them to drive 3 headphones. The HE-400i, Fidelio X2HR, and Takstar HF580. The pairing is dynamic, clean, and has plenty of power to blast your ears off.
