Hello, guys im searching for audiophile usb sound card ( external ) for my laptop, i also need to be 5.1 stereo

My budget is around 300-400 $, so i want to ask also should i buy this kind of sound card for my laptop or i can buy 100 +/- one, does it matter at all ?

My friends told me to search something from  Creative SoundBlaster X7 is it worth the money, or should i search for another ? thx

U3 is kind of low class, if he has money to burn go with the U7 or better
 
Im not sure what you mean you want your sound card to be 5.1 stereo 
 
you want to run surround sound from your laptop? do you have a home theater or something?
you need to think about if you need toslink optical cable or you can do HDMI audio out or you want the regular 3.5mm cables
 
check out this thing, it's pretty cool
but a little out of budget, never used one myself
