Wouldn't the two mentioned chord products make sense mostly if you are planning to use them as portable amp/dacs?

The RME ADI-2 is on my shortlist from all I've read over the past few weeks as a good DAC with tons of options which I'm not sure I'm going to use. Unfortunately there's no place to audition it here in the Netherlands.

@philipnl Have you been to Ears Unlimited? They have a number of amps and dacs in their audition room. Not just Ifi and Chord but also Violectric/Lake People, Auralic and Questyle. Might be worth looking into! Good luck with your search!

I don't really think of the Hugo as portable. I guess it is, but it's a pretty big rig.

There is the question, but it's just the Hugo DAC, with no headphone output.

You can always order the RME ADI-2 from Bax-shop and send it back after auditioning it



I added an used Bryston BHA - 1 to my shortlist as well.
