I just got my first serious headphones, the Audeze LCD-XC.

Sounds nice already. But I'm looking for a headphone amp which will improve the sound even more.
Right now I'm using a Apogee Duet 2.

These sound characteristics are important to me:
"open, clear, airy, detailed highs'.

I rather have a little less bass and more highs.

About $1200 I think.

I use my Macbook Pro to play Flac files.

With that kind of budget and with you being in the EU, I would go straight to the Meier Corda Jazz-ff (amp) and the Corda DACCORD (DAC). While Meier does not have the name recognition worldwide of a Schiit or FiiO, it is absolutely first-rate gear that is spectacularly well- designed. That's what I would do were I in your situation.

I'm not really sure if you've got the perfect headphone considering your "important characteristics" ...

When it comes to an amp in that price range with those characteristics a used Auralic Taurus MK2 might be a good choice - plus it has good synergy with Audeze headphones in general.

To get this sort of specific change in frequency response, you may want to look into an EQ solution, either digital or analog (such as the Schiit Loki), to go with your amp.

I got Audirvana and I can use a lot of EQ plugins which I normally use for creating music. Works quiet well

What do you guys think of the Marantz HD-DAC1?
Really affordable to get. (400 used).

The Questyle CMA600i is also on my shortlist.

Rme adi 2 is having lot of praises lately.

I'd have that questyle and the rme on the short list.

I'd also try to listen to a mojo and Hugo 2. The latter would have to be found used to get under budget.
