Recommend DAC / Amp for $400

I am a little confused.  Are you trying to bypass the internal DAC of the iPod with another DAC?

Does your iPod sound bad with your IEM?

Not enough volume?

The iems sounds very good. Looking to improve the sound any way i can. I thinking that the DAC/Amp combo will improve the sound to a higher level. I'm still a noob so any advice is welcome.

Maybe you need a DAP (Digital audio Player) that is better then the iPod Classic?
(Not sure which DAPs can work with your Apple music files)
A Fiio X3 or iBasso DX50?

Thanks I will look into those devices and do some more research

The iBasso DX50 is getting really nice reviews although the SE 535 is a really neutral and almost bright IEM right? So it might pair better with the darker X3 than the light brighter wider DX50
