Currently I have the ATH-AD2000 headphone. Sold my DACport while ago and now I'm looking for either portable or desktop setup.
Here's whats on my mind:
 
1. Laptop > Aune T1 dac/amp > AD2000
 - haven't try tube dac/amp before wonder how it goes with my AD2000.
 
2. iBasso DX50 > AD2000
 - thought of being portable (transportable might suit well).
 
3. iBasso DX50 > Westone 4R
 - or sell of my AD2000 and get the westone 4r with dx50, since I've heard 4r (which is quite good, better midrange on ad2000 tho). this will make my setup portable enough when I'm travelling.
 
I have no issue with desktop/portable/transportable setup. Just not sure which will bring shine on my AD2000 or 4r (more overall music taste?)

So - from what I read, you are considering tubes or solidstate, desktop or portable, IEMs or headphones, new DAP or new amp or new headphones...

lol - in other words, you want to buy something in the wide world of head-fi, but you don't know what...

I would first make a decision on what item you really want to improve, then concentrate on selecting that item.
