I’ve been  a ipod classic 160 user for years, I’m in the market for a new lossless player
Can someone please recommend a similar player?
 
i'm looking for something all in one  player amp/dac

For looks, I cannot think of more similar looking to an iPod classic than Fiio's collection of DAP's.
The Fiio X1, X3, and X5 are 3 DAP's with different levels of sound quality.
I know the X3 can work as a DAC/Amp with your computer and I think the X5 can do that too but I'm unsure if the X1 shares that ability,
You will need an SD card because they don't come with internal storage.
I can't say anything about their sound quality because I don't own any but I'm planning on buying the X3 soon and I heard they all get great reviews.
Try searching them up.
