I've noticed a slight channel imbalance on my E12A, starting about a month ago. At first I thought it was just a pair of headphones, but then I tried a bunch of them and it repeats, both on high and low gain, regardless of the device feeding it, or bass boost. I've recorded it over line-in, and apparently I was right (look at the full screen one):
The green one is the left channel, cut and painted over the right one.
The difference on paper is about 0.03 db, but it's more noticeable when listening, and lemme tell you, once you notice it, you can never forget about it.
I disassembled the unit, but all I found was a loose screw on the battery connector cover (making odd noises when shaking it) and fixing it didn't do anything to the sound.
Any clues or tips other than replacing it?
The unit is normally plugged to a 1st gen X5. Now I know the X5 has a channel balance feature, but, it only works for the headphone output, and I'm not double amping because the X5's amplifier sucks balls and affects the sound coming from the E12A.
