I'm checking every possibility for a nice hometheater headphone setup. They'll be mostly used with receiver headphone 1/4 jack.

I did some research and couldn't find anything on the headphone quality from these two amps. I saw a tv show where the animator was pretty much saying that big market compagny aren't putting money in their headphone jack. Is that true

Can i drive some hd600, hd650 or some he-400 properly with these amps?
I'll be using the headphone with my ipod a little, so i guess i can't really count on the hd600 for that, or can i?

Is the difference big enough to warrant the purchase of a dedicate amp?

I did some testing with all the four receiver i've got in my house and they drive any headphone i've got louder than what i need.
the vsx-1120 has difficulty is the signal is coming from my TV service provider but has alot of headroom from my ipod.

There's a light difference between the ipod touch dac and those receiver. Does that mean  the even a dedicate amp wouldn't really give me better sound than the receiver output?
