Ahh, seems like it was worth the experiment with trying them though.

Well, I knew the sounds would not be high end, but I could make a good deal with someone, so I thougt is was cool to buy it to listen too it for a while and then sell it again.

.

Also, I think its very sad to hear that someone owns a HD1000 without knowing what he's got. It's better for a HD1000 to be in the hands of someone who respects it

You should mention that these phones were developed/designed by Grado. As a result, almost every head-fi member will find them "beautiful" and ppl will queue up to buy them from you -- just a little marketing tip.

Lol, I really am glad a collector doesn't look at the looks of the HD1000

.

But then, some people like the looks of them, and to be honest, after having them for a few days now, I began to like the looks some more too

Technically maybe, but the important point is that they COULD have been developed/designed by Grado: They look ugly and apparently they sound mediocre -- there you go.

No, HD1000s are so comfortable to wear. Such comfy cans can not be Grado design

1. take the ear pad off. be careful not damaging thin vinyl part.
2. hook off the housing from inside carefully. you can find the spring there, maybe.
3. be careful not to miss tiny vinyl tubes on the virtical shaft!!

If you find the spring actually lost, PM me. I may have some in my drawer.

Thank you so much for this tip! I thought my HD1000 was missing a spring too, but thanks to you I managed to find it hiding inside, just like you said. It's great to have my little collectors piece looking complete for the first time since I got it.
