Hello all! I'm in the market for some new speakers. I've been looking at a few and need some of your opinions and advice.
Speakers I've looked at:

-Green Mountain Audio Europa (no longer an option)
-Vandersteen 2Ce
-Focus Audio FC-50
-Focus Audio FC-70

How about some Klipsch Reference floorstanding speakers, like a pair of RF-3's (or 3 II's).

My best friend had a pair of 2CE Signatures that were awsome...he upgraded to the 3A Sigs...as far as bang for the buck, the 2CE Sigs rock!

I'd recommend a good listen to the Joseph Audio RM22si Mk.II's at about $2500 list. Jeff Joseph's products sound amazing for the dollar. If you have deeper pockets, listen to the RM25si Mk.II. Lots of extended, clean bass and easy to drive with anything, tubes or solid-state.

A little off topic, but why not the Europas? I've heard that they're coming out with an updated version soon.

They are comming out with a new version. I was actually going to wait for Roy (the builder) to finish them before I bought. But he made it sound like they were going to be ready back in June. Well, my plinius 9100 has spent long enough as a paper weight. After speaking with roy recently, he's reworking the speakers again, wich means more wait. Plus, they're changing it so you can only buy europa's factory direct now. This means no more discount from my buddy in the biz.

Solidified my budget: $2300-$2400

I know no one would probably take this recommendation seriously especially since I haven't heard these speakers myself, but for an assembled speaker, I'd go with http://selahaudio.com/id13.html

I recommend Maggies. Either the MMG or the MG12. Cant go wrong.

I second the Magnepan recommendation (either the MG12s or the 1.6s). I would also highly recommend a pair of Totem Acoustics. The Hawks should fit squarely within your budget.

Also consider the ACI Sapphire monitors with an ACI Force subwoofer. This setup sounds excellent for around $2100. The Sapphires are very musical and image extremely well.

I am also a big fan of the Vandies. They should sound great, especially with a terrific amp like the Plinius.
