100+ Head-Fier
So I'm about to pull the trigger on re-cabling option for my D2k's. I'm leaning towards an option I saw at APureSound.com that terminated the cable with an XLR jack which gives me the option to attach a 1/4" , 1/8" , or balanced ends.
I love the idea of being able to switch my end so I don't have to invest in another headphone or get them re-cabled a second time. My main question is how much, if any, sound quality will be lost by having the XLR adapter in the middle of the cable?
After the re-cable, I plan on shipping them off to Lawton Audio for some woodies and markl mod.
Please let me know if you think this is a good option or if it isn't, what the potential downsides are.
EDIT: APS also offers a super nylon option for the cable, supposedly softer, more flexible and lighter. Any thoughts on this option would be appreciated as well.
Thanks in advance!
George
EDIT 2: Mod's please move this post if it is better suited in the Cables section, just noticed there was a spot for that. Sorry!
