As I'm new to the headphone game I'm looking at buying 2 headphones, Shure E500 (for portable use) & AKG K701's (home set up) and getting the AKG's re-cabled by member (KT88) with pure copper wire. What do you think good choice? Or buying the Sennheiser HD650 and getting them re-cabled again with warmer copper wire.

I am looking for a warm sound not harsh in anyway. I used to be big on 2 channel speaker set up's until I got married so i gave it up for awhile. I'm back but have been out of the game for quite some time.

Would appreciate the help in deciding

No, I have not heard either but from what I've been reading on headfi people feel that both phones have down sides and can be improved with re-cabling.

So which ever one I choose I will first let them get burned in and then think about re-cabling.

Thanks again headfiers!!!!!!!!!!!!
