Hi all,

Getting back into IEM / portable closed back since I need isolation for work now (I originally used TOTL earbuds).

Looking for what would essentially be an upgrade over the etymotic ER4-XR or RE-400 (been awhile since I've had these). Was wondering what my options were before I end up getting banned from Amazon for returning too much... To add, there is no audio store nearby to audition, as far as I'm aware at least (GA, US).

If there is a similar thread or IEM ranking thread I'm not aware of, feel free to just share that.

Points:
  • Neutral signature with great end-to-end extension. Big Soundstage is a plus, but not required.
    • I wouldn't mind neutral-warm recs either. Something like an LCD2 (fazor).
  • Detachable cable
    • unless it comes with a 2.5mm or 4.4mm plug that I can use with AMP4 from my DX200 dap.
  • Shallow or moderate insertion.
    • Ety's are great, but that insertion is too much for my weirdly tight right ear canal.
  • Good isolation for a non-cubicle work environment. Basically, desks with no surrounding walls.
  • Honestly, I would prefer around $400-$700, but I want to know what ALL my options are first. I can stretch if there is something phenomenal. $1K is definitely a hard upper limit though.

Additional points:
  • Heard the MrSpeakers Aeon Flow Closed. They were on the brighter side of neutral. I'm not too fond of lower treble peaks (around 6khz?).
    • Upper treble I can deal with though. Would prefer neutral or warm treble though.
  • How is the Sennheiser IE 800 S? I like their numerous cable options. The splitter adapter is something more companies should do!
