PC USB to Sabaj D4
Schiit Magni 2 Uber
When using the Sabaj as just a DAC and the Magni as amp, the volume (gain/level?) knob stops making any noticeable difference at anything over ~10 o' clock. Switching between low and high gain on the amp makes no difference. Other than that, things just sound lifeless compared to the Sabaj's integrated amp.
Is this due to the DAC outputting too weak a signal, or too strong and clipping? Since the volume controls on the DAC and PC are digital, I assumed they should be set near 100% and Schiit's analog knob used for any changes.
