Hello Everyone,
 
I have a Samsung C-450 5.1 Home Theater and i want to know if it is possible to replace the main (L and R) speakers with an active ones. The HT says 3ohms for speaker, can i connect a 6ohm or 8ohm pair to it. Any difference beetween active speakers and passive speakers? I would like active.
 
 
 
Would it cause any harm?

Your HTIB already has an amplifier section and not line level outputs, so powered speakers wouldn't really make any sense. It's also doubtful that you could connect a set of passive speakers since the speaker output terminals are not binding posts or even spring-loaded clips.
