It's like a real life horror movie. I feel strangely drawn to places like this. I was in Vietnam in the DMZ, in Cambodia on the Killing Fields and at the Berlin Wall in the 80's. But Chernobyl is an ongoing story that reminds us again how fragile life is and how quickly we can loose our planet.

Its pretty cool. This Ukrainian chick rode her motorcycle through the contaminated area of Chernobyl and took a bunch of really cool pictures of the surrounding areas of the site.

No... she didn't. She was on a tour, wore a leather jacket and carried her helmet...

Who cares who she is? The pictures aren't fake though.

No... but she did misrepresent herself. She told a good story.

For that matter there are holes big enough to drive a car through in the sarcophagus. They really need to build a permanent structure over Reactor 4...

Oh well, I guess it is fake. The pictures are still pretty cool if you ask me.

I visited that site a few years back and it is a rather eerie look at what happens to a deserted city. Regardless of her story being true or not, the pictures are pretty neat.

Yeah, I remember seeing the same link posted in another thread a while back and yes the concrete sarcophagus placed over reactor 4 has been crumbling for quite some time now.

I think "cool" is an awkward word to use in this context. I expected something totally different.
But the pics showed a scary place and gave me a real weird feeling when looking at them. As someone said before, I also feel drawn to such places a bit (just to look at them and experience them, not during the thing that happened). It's so scarily deserted and lifeless. And when there's life it just doesn't feel right.
So thanx for sharing.

I can't believe they didn't have a containment building. Might have prevented some of the mess.

Yes cool may be an awkward word to use, but I still think the pictures are cool because I am fascinated by things of this nature.

You can actually see the bike in some of the photos.

Also, most of that guys evidence against her trip is that it is restricted to go in alone on a motorcycle.

Think of how large the area is, how many highways and backroads go through that area. It would be very easy to sneak in.

I also doubt they have little, if any, security in most of the contaminated areas. I mean, why would they? There is nothing to do harm to, not many want to risk going in, and I highly doubt someone would want to work daily in that area.

Not to mention that the guy has no evidence, and only assumes so. People need a bit more substance to their accusations.
