Does anyone have any suggestions for some kind of reliable escrow service for online auctions? I am thinking of the old fashioned escrow type service, where both buyer and seller send their respective goods to a trusted middleman, and the middleman verifies that the items are what they are said to be and then sends them to their destinations. Or, do such things not exist anymore or cost an excessive price.
Would asking a seller if he would consent to use such an escrow service on its own be enough to verify that he's not a scammer?
