Just wondering if the quality will be lowered if two RCA to XLR adapters are used on a balanced headphone cable instead of a pair of direct XLR balanced cables. Quality of cables are the same.

Did you ever get an answer to this as I'm on the edge of pulling the trigger on a new LD6 and am wondering the same thing.

The short answer is yes. How much depends on the design of the amp and the quality of the connector. Neutrik adapters have a noticeable degradation. Cardas are much better. I've never heard Furutechs.

If you're interested in the technical details, here's a link. If not, go with my short answer.

A clear yes from me!
There are several more connection points, in which there will most probably be some signal loss. You may not be able to hear a difference though.
