Hello All,
  Does anyone know of a ranking on Head-fi of Solid State Home Amps?
 
Skylab put together his fantastic review of tube amplifiers:

And before anyone asks, no I won't rank the amps I wrote reviews of - I've never believed in ranking gear for a variety of reasons, probably the biggest reason being that it's unfair to both manufacturers and Head-Fi members to assume that one component can somehow be determined "better" than another via a numerical or letter ranking.

1. SPL phonitor/Auditor.
2. Luxman's.
3. Violectric.

I think its hard to make a ranking on all the SS amps..there are lots of brands out there + you need time to make some tests with different headphone combinations. Imo.

Maybe to make it more simple and just ranking the 3 top that you had any experience with and their sound inspire you the most. I hope this will save the dilemma, and maybe the personal agenda too.

I am new to home headphone amplifiers, my previous experience has been with portable amps.  
 
My home amplifier experience has been limited to the Audio gd NFB-12, which I found lacking.  Interested in other's experience with amplifiers.  Being new to the field, I find resources like skylab's listing of Solid State Amplifiers invaluable!  It is great reading his reviews and comparisons.  I learn by understanding "how" and "what" skylab is listening for in his reviews.
