Ranking for last 3 Sennheiser generations?

Correction: More forward than any Senn save for the 590. The 590 has a forward, Grado-esque presentation with a bright high end, like the Grados themselves. The 595 is forward in comparison to the other Senns, but I wouldn't necessarily call it forward in the absolute sense. It has a very balanced presentation IMO. I wouldn't recommend the 590 for rock though, since it's mids are it's achilles heel, and you definitely need solid, forward mids for rock.

Now that I have the 535, the 590 does sound a tad too peaky at times, so a 595 might just be the ticket. Note to self: Buy amp and 595 in future.

Thanks for the correction, as I said I haven't heard the 590s, so didn't know. That makes the 590s even more different beasts than I thought. Gratsi
