65 deg C refers to the maximum ambient case temp that Athlon 64 X2 processors can safely operate in (with the stock heatsink/fan). Rest assured that your CPU is not in danger at 63-65 deg C. Whether you are comfortable letting the temps get that high is another matter. Personally, if that's the highest the CPU temp got on the hottest day of the year, I wouldn't worry. But, if was a cooler day when you tested at 2.88GHz, it may be time to look at either a heatsink upgrade or move to watercooling if you really want to run the CPU that fast on a 24/7 (or nearly continuous) basis.
