In November 2017, I lost my wife Emma at the age of 37. She had bipolar affective disorder and in the end it proved too much for her and she took her own life.
Suffice it to say, things have been very tough for me since then. But I've found an immense amount of support and friendship through involvement in WAY - Widowed & Young. This charity is a peer to peer support network in the UK, available to anyone who loses their partner before they turn 51 - and to be perfectly honest, it's saved my life.
So in return, me and a bunch of about 15 others will be taking part in a Dragon Boat race on the the river Thames in July, racing about 60 other teams - all in aid of raising money to give back to this amazing organisation.
