Hello, do you think this radio shack dual 1/4" mono to 1/8" stereo split would really do that much to sound quality? I just bought a dual mono 1/4" to dual RCA jacks and need a dual rca to 1/8" and dont have the funds to really buy another new cable. This is a cheap fix and was wondering what you guys thought of it...

That wouldn't work if you need dual RCA to 3.5.

Its a bit ambiguous but sounds to me like you just need a 1/4 " female to 1/8" male adapter to hook up with your existing cable. Ie plug the 1/8" adapter into the 1/4" plug on yer existing cable and you've got dual RCA's to 1/8"

It should not affect the sound quality as you perceive it, but in general I try to avoid using such cheap components with my gear; but it really depends on it's use. Also, if the parts of your system are of the same caliber, then I wouldn't see a problem in using it. After all, you are only as strong as your weakest link!
