I just swapped out my radio shack line out to MM 1/8" and it sounds a lot better. My source is in my sig...remember even when I had my sb as my source? Well I had said that when I started using the radio shack cables, I noticed an ever so slight harshness in treble?
Well with the chaintech the difference is huge. The RS cable seemed to kill the bass. Also it maybe sounded slightly metallic? Seriously the bass goes deep and full now. Also it's louder too. Sounds maybe even a tad bloated now. An amp will clean that up though...
Stay away from cheap cables!
