Felix, SAEQ and RAAL1995.
so does that mean after the discussion of the Feliks envy with your headphones that you now feel they are indeed a good match?

It would be interesting to compare the Immanis to the Magna, as the price difference is not small. Maybe the less complex build of 2 ribbons will have its own “charm”.
Also, a question to @Aleksandar R. , is the total footprint of the ribbons in the Magna bigger than the one on the SR-1b?

See post #14 earlier in this thread.

edit; Magna is same as SR1 surface area of ribbon. Immanis is 1.45 times bigger.

See post #14 earlier in this thread.
My question about the Magna still applies.
It may have some advantages over the Immanis.
But we’ll know only when these will be compared head to head on an optimal setup.

It’s one of the questions I will ask Alex tomorrow. If you buy the Immanis is the Magna irrelevant or does it do some things better than Immanis? Alex does describe Immanis as like a floorstander with a 15 inch woofer, while Magna is also a floorstander but limited to 70L. Same type of sound but Immanis is “bigger”.

Yes, I'm using Envy on High Gain setting. Small difference to Mid setting, but pushes the onset of distortion furter up in SPL.
Plenty of power/SPL.

that was my finding with the sr1a...you and danny had spoken of the envy not being a match for your HP's so something must have changed

I think only time and personal impressions will tell.
Also, will the SR-1b still hold its own compared to the Magna and even the Immanis.
I assume a direct comparison will be available only at NY (the soonest).

Check with Danny if he intends to take the Raal-Requisite phones to NY or whether it’s just the Raal 1995. He was asked about the CA-1a on another thread and wasn’t sure if he’d have one available. If in doubt take yours with you. Definitely agree with you on the personal impressions comment. We are the only ones who can decide for ourselves. Personally, based on Alex’s descriptions, I can see the Immanis replacing the CA-1a, except maybe for those guys who use it with the VM-1a, but I think there’s something almost ‘magical’ about the SR-1a/b that a circum-aural design just cannot replicate/replace.

Leaving home in about 1 hour; if traffic allows I should be there at about the same time, maybe a little earlier if I can get the better half to speed up her morning activities. Yes, I know, that’s impossible but I live in hope. All aboard for the Heidelberg Tower…….4th Floor.
