Well the day has finally come, Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver was found dead on his tour bus. STP was one of my favorite bands growing up and even though he seemed to be living on borrowed time it's still a sad day. Thanks for all the great tunes!

Sad as it is to say, I'm not surprised. I'm actually way more surprised that he lasted as long as he did considering the severity of his drug addiction, real sad day for fans and anyone involved in that era of music. Could be recency bias talking but the rock bands of that early to mid 90's period seem to have a lot of tragedy following them - especially the alt-rock scene. Nirvana, Blind Melon, Mother Love Bone, Alice in Chains and now Stone Temple Pilots. Pearl Jam and Soundgarden seem to be the only iconic bands from that era that survived unscathed and even Pearl Jam was formed in the ashes of the dissolution of Mother Love Bone.
