Please note I actually had the wrong Dekonis on my DT1990 that made it boomy so I just retested with stock B pads -> in the end the DT1990 does have more detail and edges the M1570 for resolution but the M1570 is still the better headphone just by not as much. Left the original review up for posterity and because it's funny I thought the M1570 had more detail lol!
just got the M1570's.... holy hell they are good tempted to say a much better Sundara but thicker presentation where the Sundara is thin, better in SS and in resolution and they are damn close but not quite there to sounding like you are there.... closer than the M570, better than the M570, detail and resolution for days, going to say detailing outpaces resolution it's clear there is room for more resolution (might be my AMP also we will see how liquid spark is should increase detail and resolution), good imaging not amazing soundstage, quite like where the treble is very easy to listen no fatigue.... The bass is very very good probably the best of all my sets but it makes me wish the FR was more bass heavy I understand the comparison of liking the LCD-2C/X more for the bass response; it's so good you want more. But I do appreciate the accuracy of the bass. This is a headphone where you clearly hear how big the driver is and appreciate it, the M570 not so much despite in length being not that much smaller.
Fit is a bit wonky but probably just because it's not what most headphone are and the weight is off head due to huge pads, extremely comfy besides the weight, but I am very big and strong (think linebacker but stronger) and it's pretty damn notable, could see how this could easily be an issue I won't lie I will have to get used to it.... What is apparent is this thing is punching waaaaay above it's weight it's probably the best in my collection, the DT1990 might be on it's heels and it looses a bit for the soundstage but I don't see how objectively this doesn't win, it's damn impressive. I can see why it's hard to recommend as best under $500 however since headphones have other things besides sound....
Going to find a place for that stupidly huge case on my desk these are my new daily drivers probably and don't know why Zeos complained about pads the inner material isn't that amazing bus incredibly soft and they feel as good as Dekonis on the outside maybe a bit thinner material.
All of this without burn in cannot image them sounding better but I will wait.
