Quiet sound and popping crackles in Appogee Duetta IIspeaker

I bought two Apogee Duetta II speakers coupled with one Denon POA-6600a power amps and one plays nice and the other is quiet and does not play nearly as nice, also makes a crackling sound. What should I do?

Is it safe to continue playing the broken muffled speaker?
