I have the SR225i and I've got them apart and have some 24 gauge silver coated copper wire on order. Question is, when I removed the stock cable, it's a total of 8 strands. Do I need to recable with 8 strands? or is the 4 litz braid with 2 signal and 2 ground ok? Thanks guys!

You do not have to recable with 8 strands. You could use as many strands as you want. It's a little unspecified of what you mean in the last sentence, but if you ordered solid-core wire, then yeah just do 2 signal 2 ground on a Litz braid.

will this break easily?  I didn't realize it was solid core. Thanks again!

no it shouldn't break at all unless your man handling it. the strands mean nothing really if i assuming you meaning the wire you saw on the drivers were stranded instead of solid. i like stranded wire personally for speaker use since you can twist it tight as you want and it's more flexible. you are good to go with the re-cabling.
