Any advice to fix a minor but annoying problem?

Mini socket issue... when I plug in a headphone into the mini jack on my pcd, only one channel is audible. Pull it back out slightly and both channels magically appear.

Suggestions (if any) would be appreciated!

OK, how would I go about doing that??? Doesn't seem large enough to get a Q tip into the jack. Maybe a pipe cleaner???

This is almost certainly due to cheap metal in the jack getting bent out of shape by use. You could try using a dental pick to reach inside and bend the contact inward so it is no longer intermittent, or replace the jack, if that is possible.

Pipe cleaner and some contact cleaner. But if the problem is due to the jack being 'physically out whack', as morsel states, then it won't help.
