Can anyone tell me what kind of plug this is? This is my Xfinity broadband modem. It's 12V and 4.3A. I haven't seen one with the inner plastic sleeve and tiny male pin. I want to get a LPS for it. I probably won't be able to get a cord, but I at least need an adapter.

I sort of thought of same. Just get a 2.5 or 2.1 end and buy a boat load of adapters pack. At 4.3A...its a bit higher current that other small stuff... Odd that it would be a smaller pin... Why use non standard?

This type of plugg is a little bit more secure in regards to being accidentally pulled out. It clicks into place. My understanding is that a modem will draw the most current at boot-up. Working curent draw will be much lower than 4,3 A. An AliExp adapter will be adequate imo.
I tried an LPS on my modem with no success. Got higher latency and jitter and no improvement in SQ. I am now using the stock smps with an IFI DC-iPurifier2 whitch have improved SQ, latency and jitter in my streaming chaine. I think something like an IFI iPower Elite will be perfect to power a modem.
My wireless routers on the other hand profited on using LPS's. Go figure. Adding ground-boxes to modem and router also helps SQ ime.

Thank you very much. My main thing is I am putting 2 dedicated power circuits in for my stereo and I don't want a SMPS on the circuit. I don't need to put the router on that circuit either... I can just keep it on old circuit.BBut that's the point... Maybe it benefits a clean line, and I don't want dirty supply on it.

I see. An LPS with a super cap bank will probably be "fast" enough to make a difference. Never tried one on my modem but uses two Allo Shanti 5V in my system with great results. Powers my DAC, DDC, streamer and switch. Farad Super3 is rated 3,5A, so not in spec. Zerozone 01- Supercap is rated max 4A operating current so will probably work. It's only $126 + shipping from Ali Exp. The Farad Super10 is crazy money. There are others, but be ready to pay a premium.
