hey, I am thinking about upgrading some of the caps in my Cayin HA-1A.

I've looked at the caps in the amp stage of the amp and have found some blackgates available that will replace the electrolytics . However, the two film capacitors are rated 1.0uF 250v. Could I use a capacitor thats rated 1.0uF 300v? or Does it have to be 250v? Thanks,

Ryan

Use 0.47uF teflon or PIO capacitors. Voltage doesn't matter so long as it is higher than the original 250V. It does matter for electrolytics though, which tend to have its lowest distortion when operated at its maximum rated voltage.

The only problem with using caps with a higher voltage rating than necessary is that the caps will be physically larger. If they fit in the space available, go for it.
