Hi guys. I know what an amp does...I think (increases the power output to headphones so that headphones with a higher impedance can be driven).

(is that even close?)

My real question was, what is the point of spending thousands of dollars on amps? As in, why is a Woo Audio Wa22 worth more than any random amp that can drive headphones of the same impedance? I was under the impression that given the same power, you got the same result... So if 2 amps can drive the same headphones, why is one worth more than the other?

Thanks guys, and sorry for my lack of knowledge. I'll try to learn and get there one day.
