Hi,

I am interested in the above two equipment but have some questions.

1) For the Cypher Labs DAC, it has a coaxial out. I understand that this is a digital signal out. The Cypher Labs Solo is a DAC so why would it have a digital out? Shouldn't a DAC have an analog out only? What is the purpose of this digital signal out?

2) For the JH3A amp, there is a "line(coaxial)" input. Is this a digital input for the amp?

3) If I connect the Cypher Labs DAC from the coaxial out to the JH3A amp's line(coaxial) input, is this a digital connection(digital out and digital in)? I will be using the cable from DoubleHelix.

4) If the connection in question number 3 is not digital but an analog connection, is there a way to make the data transfer digital between these two devices? The Cypher Labs has a coaxial out and the JH3A amp has a USB in. Is there a cable with connectors that are coaxial to USB?

thanks!

On the top left of the 3A you will see "IN SELECT".  Pushing that button will, with a blue light, select three options to the right of "in select": digital; line; mic.

By selecting "digital". the answer to 2) above is yes.

With "digital" selected, the answer to 3) is yes, assuming the Double helix is a coaxial cable.

No idea about 1) above.

Check JH Audio website and see of they have an owner's manual for the 3A.  You'll get answers that way too.
