Sennheiser HD598/HD600/HD650
Would i need an amp for all of these? If so, Which one(s)?

Which would be best choice?

Audio Technica ATH-AD900X vs Sennheiser HD 598
Which one would work best for Music and Gaming?

Games such as : Sid Meier's Civilization 5: Brave New World, Watch Dogs, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Team Fortress 2, Skyrim, etc.

Should i get the Sennheiser HD 598 with the ModMic 4.0?

Please leave some recommendations too. Much Appreciated.
Thanks.

That string of Sennheiser headphone models is a mistake.

The HD598 does not belong in the family with the HD580/HD600/HD650.

Yes, the HD598 would be fine for the other questions you ask, but it is not in the same league and is certainly not in the same heritage as the HD580 [/HD600/HD650].

Both AD900x and HD598 are very nice headphones for music and gaming. They don't need extra amplification to sound good, although they improve a little with higher quality dacs and amps.

Sennheiser HD600 are more neutral and the general consensus is that they have narrower soundstage in comparison with HD598. Same applies to HD650 which are on the dark side of neutral. Both HD600/HD650 need proper amplification to sound good.

HD600 and HD650 are probably more refined sounding than HD598, but I know of many people who prefer HD598 over them, some call them euphoric, some simply like the slightly more forward presentation, you know... both are good headphones, the right choice is down to preference.

I think you can't go wrong with HD598s
