Alright, I'm a layman who likes his sound ok, so please, keep technical terms to a minimal.
Ok, currently, I have a pair of sennheiser mm50's that I use with my iphone, and I've noticed it doesn't have the same crisp sound as the sennheiser PC350.
Now, I've noticed on several reviews that the IE8s were comparable to the HD 600s, which is a step up from the HD 500s the sennheiser PC 350s, and the only thing stopping me from upgrading are several things.
The iphone uses a 4 pin 3.5 mm jack, instead of the 3 pin standard found on most earphones I've seen. Now, there's an adaptor I can use to fix that, but I have no idea what that will do to the audio quality, and where I can get one.
Also, I've no idea if the iphone's sound quality is good enough for me to justify upgrading.
Now, finally, how durable are the IE8s? I listen to music a lot when I work and excersice, and most cords tend to snag on different objects when I move around a lot.
EDIT: Should I invest in a portable amp? If so, what kind do you recommend?
Ok, this is kind of a lot, but I like to do a lot of research before I make a huge purchase like this.
