I vote for Fred Fred's Cmoys, love em, brilliant sounding and very creative too, I find he makes more variety of Cmoys than most others and this is from my own experience, mind you I have almost 9 of his amps and love them all, and best of all is his service, its 2nd to none and he's very helpful, what more can I say.
 
he's also now making cmoy amps but in small/baby eclipse tins, very creative indeed:

To answer your questions here, I've found Fred to be brilliant, serious and he always answers my questions on time and promptly too and have never had a problem with this communications.
 
But what I like most about his amps is the use of his creativity. Take a look at most of the other Cmoys manufacturers on ebay or where ever, ttechnically speaking their amps are really all the same and they seem to only use the OPA2227 opamp, I mean really sometimes its good for a change isnt it
 
And when I see Cmoy amp makers here start making amps into small Eclipse Tins than they can call themselves true engineers, ohhhh and valve amps too

Fred is a great guy who builds nice cmoy amps..
I happen to own one...
He is very communicative and his service is excellent.
JDS cmoy on the other hand is more proffesionally builded and has the bass boost feature that may be handy for someone who wants to feel his basshead needs..
Comparing these 2 amps i prefer JDS over Fred's...

And could you compare to BSG?
 
I had the same dilema but in the end I went for BSG. I find the gain customization more useful than the BassBoost switch. (I'm not a basshead).
 
Furthermore the treat and communication with BSG is excellent!
