If I have a bunch of ordinary mp3's, can I play them on a Nano ? Do I have to go through Itunes for everything, even if Rockbox is installed ? Thinking of going from my Creative player to this because a Nano will mount perfectly on my amp.

Also, anyone know of a cheap source for 1st gen black 2gb Nano's ? I would like to find one in new condition for $100 max. I know the 4gb refurbs are on Apple for $150.

1. Yes. The iPod nano will play any MP3 file.
2. No. When using Rockbox you simply drag and drop files to your iPod in Finder, Explorer, or simular.
3. Watch the "Source Components For Sale / Trade" forum, or post a WTB thread.

Apple has sold the 2GB refurbished models for $99 recently. I'm sure they will again soon (though the sales often only last a portion of the day until they sell out).
