I had the grado 225's and the pleather headband is nothing more then a sleeve for a plastic thin metal band. Certain pictures that I have seen of the rs1 (and maybe the 2?) appear to haave somethign more under the leather headband then just the wire frame thing, am I correct in this or do all grado headphones have the same material under the leather/pleather band?

Thanks.

Hi Metal_monger

The sr-60 to sr-225's come in the same plastic headband but the 325's come in a padded leather headband. The rs1's have a larger more padded leather headband then the 325's and the rs2's i believe is the same as the rs1's. I find the leather headband alot more comfortable on the 325's and the rs1's are even better.

metal_monger,
If you really love your SR225 you can always buy the RS2 leather headband from Grado for $50 (the RS1 headband will not fit the SR225 as the RS1's chambers are larger and require larger gimbals). I was in the same position as you, because I love my SR225 and found no incentive to upgrade (in fact, I still prefer the SR225 over the other Grados); I bought the RS2 headband and the flat pads and now my SR225 is much more comfortable.
