First, a little background...

I currently have a pair of Yuin PK2s and a pair of Senn PX100s that I use with my 2g nano/ALO Cryo Dock/cmoy rig. Both sets of ear/headphones sound good, although I prefer the (amped) PK2 sound signature by a sizable margin.

I've reads lots of posts saying that the PX100 has a sound signature that is somewhat similar to the 650 sound signature.

In the next 3 weeks or so, I plan to buy a 5.5g iMod, ALO Cotton dock & Hornet M amp, along with either Senn 650s or AKG K701s. From all that I read, the 701 sound signature will work for me.

My question is this: Comparatively speaking, do the 701s & the PK2s have somewhat similar sound signatures? At least as similar as the PX100 & 650 sound signatures?

I'd be scared if any £30 headphone sounded like the 650s. Similar sounding, as they're both Senns maybe...

Re somewhat similar sound signatures of the PX100s and the 650s, see these posts:

I found quite a few more like that last week, these were just what I could find in a quick search just now. Unfortunately, I've never had the pleasure to listen to 600s, 650s or 701s, so all I have to go with is what I'm reading on this forum...

That said, does the sound signature of the 701 resemble the PK2s in any meaningful way?
